I love to create and deliver presentations, especially with a team. Whether it's discussing a project I'm working on or explaining a tool our team uses, I always try to keep it flashy and fun. Read on below for a glimpse at some of the presentations I've given.
After nearly three years of development and alpha piloting, the Argos Course Maintenance Hub was ready for wider adoption. At the 2026 FIU Online Instructional Design Expo, attendees learned about Argos by playing through an interactive demo I created in Articulate Storyline. As participants got hands-on expertience with the tool, I emphasized its utility and highlighted the positive impact reported by alpha users. With buzz growing around the office, my peers were excited to finally see what Argos is all about!
Calling on our experience with simulation design in several courses, Dr. Anamary Tarifa, Constanza Saltoff, and I discussed the benefits of simulations with faculty at an online learning expo at FIU in 2026. Though we developed a fully custom simulation in Articulate Storyline 360, we discussed entry-level alternatives that are just as effective at engaging learners in STEM and the humanities.
At FIU's 2026 Faculty Innovations for Student Success Showcase, Dr. Anamary Tarifa and I discussed the impact that interactive learning experiences like simulations have on students. With technology rapidly advancing, faculty have shown greater interest in these activities that help their classes stand out and offer unique experiences to learners. We presented research indicating positive impact on the learning experience alongside survey results from Dr. Tarifa's students following their completion of our Escape the Lab simulation.
After creating a forensic chemistry simulation with Dr. Anamary Tarifa (a fellow ID), we discussed our process in a seminar for the Instructional Designer Network in 2025. In front of more than 100 attendees, we discussed the opportunity designers have to provide online students with practical, hands-on experience through simulations.
At the inaugural FIU Online Instructional Design Expo in 2025, I teamed up with Dr. Anamary Tarifa and Constanza Saltoff to tell our department about the simulation we created. With costumes, props, and an interactive demo that attendees could play, we shared our incentives for building such an ambitious simulation, described how to use Articulate Storyline 360 and game design principles to make engaging projects, and discussed the feedback we received from students who completed the activity in a live course.
In 2024, FIU Online replaced its legacy peer review tool with Kritik. Many faculty felt the tutorials on Kritik's website made the tool seem far more complicated than it really was. I happily volunteered to guide our instructors through the tool at FIU OnlineCon in clear, straightforward language.
I built the whole presentation from the ground up, including the images which I made using a vector graphics editor.
