I love to create and deliver presentations, especially with a team. Whether it's discussing a project I'm working on or explaining a tool our team uses, I always try to keep it flashy and fun. Read on below for a glimpse at some of the presentations I've given.
After creating a forensic chemistry simulation with Dr. Anamary Tarifa (a fellow ID), we discussed our process in a seminar for the Instructional Designer Network. In front of more than 100 attendees, we discussed the opportunity designers have to provide online students with practical, hands-on experience through simulations.
At the inaugural FIU Online Instructional Design Expo, I teamed up with Dr. Anamary Tarifa and Constanza Saltoff to tell our department about the simulation we created. With costumes, props, and an interactive demo that attendees could play, we shared our incentives for building such an ambitious simulation, described how to use Articulate Storyline 360 and game design principles to make engaging projects, and discussed the feedback we received from students who completed the activity in a live course.
In 2024, FIU Online replaced its legacy peer review tool with Kritik. Many faculty felt the tutorials on Kritik's website made the tool seem far more complicated than it really was. I happily volunteered to guide our instructors through the tool at FIU OnlineCon in clear, straightforward language.
I built the whole presentation from the ground up, including the images which I made using a vector graphics editor.
